Blumenthal Arts presents THE ILLUSIONISTS October 21-23 at Oven’s Auditorium. Considered the world’s best magic show, seven magicians are prepared to awe and delight with their sophisticated art of deception!

Queen City Ghost Tours offers a historical scare, starting in Uptown Charlotte! Learn about ghostly visitors from the Revolutionary War to present-day, local haunted homes! Walking and driving tours are available.

Detectives of all ages will enjoy the Murder Mystery/Dinner –Evil Never Dies on October 22nd. Intrigue and wine will dominate this whodunit evening at Cougar Run Winery! Help solve the mystery while enjoying a dinner catered by 2 Gals Kitchen.

Stretch your skeleton and move those muscles at the first annual Costume Dash on October 29th. Dress in your Halloween costume and enjoy the fun run through South End! Midnight in the Garden at Historic Rosedale Planation offers an indoor and outdoor experience for all ghost busters! The Paranormal Grounds Investigation will be 6:30-8pm using technology in partnership with the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society. Halloween can be fun and educational! Plaza Midwood’s Fall Crawl Cankerworm Festival will be on Oct. 29th, 9am-7pm. Charlotte is ready to get her scare on at Halloween events for the young and for the over 21 crowd! Adults seeking a scary evening in the Charlotte area have a variety of venues to choose from. The 8th Annual Gravediggers Ball returns as the most popular Halloween event in Charlotte!  Located at 301 East 7th Street, this is THE over 21 party to get your ghoul on! If dancing and partying spells Halloween fun, then the Gravediggers Ball is the place to be on October 26th!

Music, Monsters and Mayhem is a Halloween musical event at the NC Music Factory, 100 NC Music Factory Blvd, on October 26, beginning at 6:00pm. Multiple bands, a $5,000 prize for the costume contest, and multiple venues guarantees a spooktacular evening!

Wicked Wine and BBQ Festival Tours is for those goblins who enjoy their barbeque with a touch of sophistication! The Tour provides round trip transportation to four NC Wineries and the 30th annual Lexington BBQ Festival! The tour departs at 10:00 am from Charlotte (midtown and University City areas) on October 26th.

For the sports enthusiast, The Queen City Twilight Costume Race is back, hosted by NoDA, just north of Charlotte’s Center City. The Freaky 5k Twilight Race begins at 6;00pm and the night can be topped off at the NoDaWEEN party at the Highland Mills parking lot, in front of Heist Brewery. Sponsored by the NoDa Neighborhood and Business Association (official “Voice of the Arts District) a minimum 20% of the 2013 proceeds will be donated to Running Works. Running Works is a non-profit charity for the homeless.

Charlotte’s little goblins have a great many spooky, and not-so-spooky, choices to celebrate their Halloween!

Older kids in the Charlotte area consider Scarowinds a right of passage! Scarowinds, located at Carowinds amusement park is October 25-27th. Mazes with terrifying creatures and thrill rides will be sure to entertain the kiddos ages 13 and over. For the wee little pumpkins, Carowinds also offers a family friendly Great Pumpkin Fest on Saturdays and Sundays October 5-27, noon to 5:00pm.

NoDa, Charlotte’s favorite Art District is sponsoring a NoDa KiDaWEEN on October 26th, 2-5pm! A Monster Obstacle Course, Bouncy House, a spooky walkway and a prize for the most creative costume are just a few of the fun events! Live music will be provided by NoDa’s JUICEBOX, a high-energy, kid-friendly band.

Spooktacular at Morrison in Southpark will offer train rides, face painting, trick-or-treating and a pet costume contest on Thursday, October 24, 5:00pm-7:30pm.

Treat-O-Ween at Carolina Place Mall will be held October31st from 6-8pm. Radio Disney Charlotte will present their Monstober Halloween Dance Party in the food court. There will be Halloween crafts, and prizes.

Promenade on Providence on the corner of Providence Road and I-485 is a a free Halloween event on October 25th. The double feature Hotel Transylvania and Franenweenie will begin at dark. The kids are welcome to trick-or-treat with the merchants.

Young or more adult, Charlotteans have a variety of spooky venues to choose from in the Queen City. Get your ghoul on and have a happily hideous Halloween!

Scary goblins, haunted houses and ghoulish activities abound in Charlotte during the month of October. Charlotte has entertainment and activities for all fright levels, and there is surely some wickedly wonderful fun to accommodate all during the month of Halloween!

Because the even the smallest witches and wizards want to join in the spirit of Halloween, Carowinds Amusement Park offers a Howl-O-Fest’s Boo Blast for the youngest set.  During the daytime, the park’s Paladium Amphitheatre Plaza is transformed in to a street party of frightful fun for kids and their families. Complete with activities that are fun-scary, not scary-scary, Howl-O-Fest’s Boo Blast is an exciting compilation of shows, attractions, and interactive activities throughout the day.  Then, the older kids (13 and older) can come back at night for SCarowinds Halloween Haunt XI. SCarowinds has long been a rite of passage for all teens! (www.carowinds.com ). The younger set can also enjoy a natural Halloween at Creepy Crawly Celebration! Friday, Oct 26, 6:00p to 9:00p at Reedy Creek Nature Center, Charlotte, NC.  The museum celebrates all that’s creepy and crawly Halloween weekend! Live animals, touch tanks, costume contest, marshmallow roast, and trick or treating included. Also, for the wriggly and giggly, head out to Lake Norman to join the Sate Park Rangers to investigate creatures living in the region. If you are looking to be terrified, The Campground Massacre in Fort Mill, www.themassacre.com ,  is a scream-your-head off choice. The 130-acre Carrigan Farms inMooresville, NC is a short 30-minute drive and turned into Scarrigan Farms, www.scarriganfarms.com, every October and is a very scary haunted trail for the older, thrill-seeking set.

For a more sophisticated, musical Halloween route. Wicked Divas of Broadway is being presented October 28-29 by the Charlotte Symphony at The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, www.blumenthalcenter.com. The North Carolina Music Factory, 1000 NC Music Factory Boulevard will have Music, Monsters and Mayhem for those interested in some wicked entertainment.  The 12th Annual Grave Diggers Ball at 301 E. Seventh St.is an annual party has become one of the biggest Halloween events in the region and often sells out.

Whether you are looking to get your goul on by being terrified, investigating creepy crawlies outdoors, dancing the night away, or watching a show Charlotte is sure to leave you spellbound!
