If you’re like us, you can’t believe that April is just a few short hours away – it’s remarkable how these first months of 2017 have flown by!

We are excited, though, for what that means for all of us in Charlotte. We’ve welcomed back spring, and nights where the sun doesn’t set until after 7:00pm. Mother Nature (fingers crossed!) appears to have officially ditched winter, and we are enjoying days filled with sunshine and warmth.

Also rapidly approaching is the Easter holiday! We at Bon Maison love all things that come with this season – from pastel décor to devouring tons of sweet candy to spending time with family and friends. We want you to enjoy your Easter season just as much, so below we’ve compiled a list of fun Easter events around Charlotte this season. So break out your bonnets, and get ready to enjoy!

  • Easter Eggstravaganza 2017 at Lazy 5 Ranch : With Easter Egg Hunts on both April 8th and April 15th, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the fun at Lazy 5 Ranch! If you’ve never been, it’s a must to see all of the animals up close and personal! The Easter Egg Hunts are broken out by agre group to keep things fair and fun for all, and there are tons of other activities, including a scavenger hunt, coloring contest and playtime with live bunnies! Food and drinks are available as well, but be sure to have cash as cards are not accepted.
  • Visit with the Easter Bunny at Stonecrest : If your kiddos want some face-to-face time with the bunny himself, hop on over to Stonecrest Shopping Center on April 8th. Not only will you be able to take some great pictures, but there will be crafts, cookies and punch for all to enjoy!
  • Easter Egg Hunt at Nascar Speedpark : For the adventurous at heart, take a trip up to the Nascar Speedpark at Concord Mills on April 8th to enjoy a free Easter Egg Hunt! There will be thousands of hidden eggs to find, and candy, toys and additional prizes to be won. Fun for the whole family, and can be followed up with shopping at the outlets!
  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Historic Rosedale Plantation : On April 8th from 10am – 1pm, the Rosedale Plantation will be hosting 3 separate Easter Egg Hunts! You’ll be apple to explore the beautiful gardens while your kids hunt for eggs filled with treats and educational prizes. Be sure to bring your baskets!
  • Underwater Easter Egg Hunt at Ray’s Splash Planet : We are officially deeming this the most unique of the Egg Hunts for the year! Put on your suit, grab your bucket and strap on your googles for this water-filled hunt! $5 per person (up to age 12) includes event entry, swimming and egg hunt! The event is taking place on Thursday, April 13th at 6:30pm, and is sure to be the best kickoff to your Easter weekend!
  • Hodges Family Farm Second Annual Spring Fling : With events on both Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th, this flexible schedule will hopefully allow everyone to join in on the fun! With a number of Easter Egg hunts for every age group, your kids are sure to have a blast and even hunt for a special gold or silver egg! In addition to the $5 Easter Egg Hunt, there will be Hay Rides, Yard Games, a Scavenger Hunt and farm animals to enjoy!
  • Easter Hoppenings at Phillips Place : For fun on April 15th, be sure to head over to Phillips Place where the Easter Bunny, a balloon artist and face paint await! The day is fun for the whole family and will provide a full afternoon of fun from 1pm – 3pm.

Charlotte is bursting with a spring color spectacular! Every neighborhood is a sea of pink and green. White pear trees shower every passing car with beautiful snow- white blossoms and the daffodils’ bright yellow spots of sunshine are in every yard.
Children are anxiously awaiting the Easter Bunny and families are welcoming their neighbors and friends to their homes and churches to celebrate.

The Easter bunny will be visiting Charlotte throughout the Easter weekend and families have several options of egg hunting fun venues!
In South Charlotte egg hunters and bunny seekers can hop about starting in the beautiful Ballantyne area.
Ballantyne Village will have free pictures with the Easter Bunny, crafts and more on March 26th, from 1-3pm. This busy shopping and eating area offers many restaurants, salons, shops and even a movie theatre to keep the entire family entertained!
Easter brunch will be offered in the Ballroom at The Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge on March 27th, 11am-3pm. Live entertainment and a visit from the Easter Bunny will be a part of your delicious culinary experience.
An Easter Tea will celebrate the season at the Hotel and Lodge Wednesday, march 23rd through Saturday, March 2th, 1-5pm. Tea sweets and savories menu will accompany your loose leaf tea sipping selection.
Join in the hunt at the Easter Eggstravaganza in Elon Park on March 26th 9am-12pm. Hunt for eggs, play games and dance to the music!
Ballantyne Kidzart will offer special Easter activities on March 26th. Bring the whole family and explore your artistic side!
Venturing just minutes from South Charlotte will bring you more spring fun!
Carowinds Easter Eggstravaganza and Spring break on March 25th –April 3rd will have you screaming on the Fury rollercoaster, along with getting your picture taken with Eggward the Easter Bunny and Snoopy!
The quaint, historical town of Matthews is just 10 minutes from bustling South Charlotte. Stumptown Park is the place for fantastic music, fun and food. Join in the Food Truck Friday festivities on March 25th, 5-9pm.
Spring Fling at Hodges Family Farm is a country Easter minutes from the metropolitan bustle of Charlotte. Old- fashioned fun will include sack and spoon races, interacting with barn animals (especially the bunnies) and, of course, an Easter egg hunt! The country fun begins on March 26th at 10am.

Easter weekend in Charlotte will offer the grownups some much-deserved fun away from the kids, Easter bunny and egg hunts! Bunny Hop Bar Crawl on March 26th and 27th begins at Rooftop 210. Pick up your t-shirt and complete the tasks while enjoying beverages and prizes!
The Fillmore Charlotte presents PAPADOSIO on March 25th. This Indie-Rock experience unfolds as the night goes on, creating a live, earthy livetronica act. Also at the Fillmore, Trial by Fire a Tribute to Journey will have you traveling down a favorite band and memory lane. You will be happily humming “Don’t stop Believin” for days. Saturday, March 26th at 8:00pm.
Winter Jam 2016 at Time Warner Cable Arena will be a Christian musical experience for all fans of the most popular Christian bands! Enjoy the musical praise on March 26th doors open at 5pm.
Dale Earnhardt’s Whiskey River Tavern will offer a spring balloon drop on March 25th-26th at 9pm. Hundreds of balloons and cash will be dropping from the ceiling as rock and country music fans dance!

The celebration of Easter will have Charlotte’s many churches swelled with parishioners joyous at the risen Christ, families and friends enjoying the beautiful spring weather at Easter egg hunts and music filling Uptown.

South Charlotte welcomes Easter with the beauty of spring, spiritual celebration at its many houses of worship, excited children hunting for Easter eggs, family gatherings for Easter brunch and entertainment for all!

Charlotte Easter spiritual celebrations will fill the Queen City the weekend of April 4th. Families can continue the celebration of a new, beautiful Charlotte springtime at many restaurants and joining in Easter Bunny entertainment!

Easter brunch on the Charlotte’s Southside is a family tradition! The Ballantyne Ballroom at the luxurious Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge is a delicious way to extend your day still wearing your church Easter finery! Easter brunch will include live entertainment and a visit from the Easter Bunny! April 5th, 11am-3pm.

Terrace Café in the bustling Ballantyne Village is rated one of the best brunches in Charlotte! Weekend yumminess starts at 8am and will have you digging into amazing red velvet waffles and spooning creamy cheese grits.

 Café Monte in sophisticated Southpark will have you saying OUI! OUI! to all the traditional Easter brunch delicacies at this classic French eatery. Crepes, quiche and fresh pastries are sure to please your palate.

Keep those bouncing bunny kiddos entertained at the Village Kids Eggstravaganza on April 4th at Ballantyne Village. In a fantastical Alice in Wonderland theme children can hold live bunnies, participate in egg hunts and visit with the Easter Bunny!

Celebrate spring creating and building at your nearest South Charlotte Home Depot! Home Depot Kids Workshop will be building a chalkboard planter stand. Adorable and practical! April 4th ages 5-12. Kids get to keep their craft, apron and receive a certificate of achievement.

Southpark Mall is celebrating Grace, the 2015 Girl of The Year! Enter into the magical space of the American Girl Store and get a bakers hat with a delightful tiny one for your American Girl doll! Decorate a cupcake, create your own pastry box and participate in a scavenger hunt. April 2nd and 9th.

Charlotte sports fans can hop onto the LYNX line off South Boulevard and ride in comfort to the Time Warner Cable Arena. On Thursday, April 2nd hockey fans can cheer the Charlotte Checkers on against the Oklahoma City Barons.

Charlotte basketball fans can enjoy the LYNX ride from the south side to time Warner Cable Arena on April 4th to watch the Charlotte Hornets against the Philadelphia 76ers. www.timewarnercablearena.com

CHARLOTTE CELEBRATES SPRING WITH EASTER FUN April 9, 2014

The Easter bunny is hopping into Charlotte for EGG citing egg hunts and yummy spring celebrations!

Southpark Mall will have an Easter Egg Roll and Hop Tour on Saturday, April 12th. From 10-1:00pm the Easter Bunny will be available for photo opportunities and hop throughout the mall for Easter egg decorating, egg roll competitions and Hop Tour passport prizes!

Also in the beautiful Southpark area of Charlotte, Phillips Place will host the Easter Bunny 1-3:00pm. The fun will include Mister Twister balloon artist and face painting.

On April 18th, in Uptown Charlotte, Romare Bearden Park will have a spectacular Easter egg hunt. From 11am-1: 30pm families can enjoy a fun-filled adventure including a hula-hoop demonstration, juggling and illusion show.

St. Gabriel Church in South Charlotte will have its Annual Family Easter Egg Hunt on April 12 beginning at 10am. stgabrielchurch.org

Older children can enjoy a more sophisticated Easter celebration with parents at The Great EGGSPERIMENT Egg Drop contest at World Worship Church. The Egg Drop Contest is April 19th from 11am-2: 30 for all kids 2-Senior High. The winner receives a Season’s Pass to Carowinds! Families can also enjoy food, egg games and egg hunts. Family Paint and Easter Bunny Visit is a great way to celebrate spring at the Cajun Canvas! To inspire painters, the night will begin with the Easter bunny, then everyone will put on their Picasso and paint an Easter inspired painting!

Dying Easter Eggs is a fun, but messy tradition! Hop into the Whole Food Market on Fairview Road on April 15th and let someone else clean up after the little bunnies! Natural dyes using foods, plants and spices will safely create beautiful pastel colored eggs for the entire family to enjoy!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is a great way to hop into the spring season! Maggiano’s Little Italy is having Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 12th, 8-11:00am. Enjoy a scrumptious buffet including an omelet and waffle station, visits from the Easter Bunny and a special treat to take home!

Easter Brunch at the Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge is a great way to enjoy Easter! On Sunday, April 20th, 11am-3:00pm, families will enjoy seasonal entrées, carving stations, egg drawing and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny!

CHARLOTTE WELCOMES EASTER WITH HUNTS AND BRUNCHES March 22, 2013

Easter is a beautiful spring celebration in the Queen City! Families and friends are attending church, going to Easter Egg hunts and looking forward to a lovely Easter brunch.

Charlotte offers Easter egg hunts and Easter brunches all throughout the city. Whether you are entertaining visitors or enjoying your hometown, Charlotte will satisfy your Easter expectations.

Annual Easter egg hunts are being held all about Charlotte!

Kids can visit the Easter Bunny at the Matthews Community Center on March 22nd. Easter crafts will be made, with the obligatory Easter Bunny picture being made. Matthews Community Center is located at 100 McDowell St.

Southpark will hold its Great Easter Egg Roll and Hop on March 23rd at 4400 Sharon Road. The great Easter egg roll is for all ages!

On March 28th kids can join in the annual Mallard Creek Easter Egg Hunt, at 2530 Johnston-Oehler Road. Egg hunting will begin at 10:00 am.

For those swim team members of the family who can’t get enough of the water, Ray’s Splash Planet will have an Underwater Easter Egg Hunt on March 28th. Kids will hunt for eggs in the water. Ray’s is located at 215 N. Sycamore Street.

Grandmas and Grandpas can enjoy their grandchildren over the Easter Holiday while creating an Easter basket. The Methodist Home Recreation Center will have a Grandparents-Grandkids Easter Basket Making on March 29th. The home is located at 3200 Shamrock Drive.

On March 30th all bunnies can hop over to the Charlotte Easter Egg Hunt at Latta Park, 601 E. Park Avenue.  Activities as well as free food will be offered. This is considered the largest Easter egg hunt in Charlotte. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful park!

Brunch is an Easter tradition for many Charlotteans and there are many restaurants offering Easter specials to get you out of the kitchen and relaxing with family and friends!

Blackthorne Restaurant and Bar will offer an a la carte Easter Brunch menu. Located in the Ballantyne area, Blackthorne has a popular contemporary American cuisine. The salads are a delight to the senses, especially the Blackthorne Pear Pecan salad. Balckthorne is located at 11318 North Community House Road.

Ilios Noche Restaurant will satisfy for Greek craving on Easter! Easter specials will be offered. If you prefer a light snack, try one of the pastries and a cup of espresso on the patio. Ilios Noches is located at 11508 Providence Road, in the Ballantyne area.

131 Main in the Blakeney Center will be opening an hour earlier, at 10:00, on Easter. Their delicious brunch menu and a special Easter menu will be offered. The eggs benedict served with light and fluffy crab cakes is a favorite! 131 is located at 9886 Rea Road, as well as in Dilworth and Lake Norman.

The Terrace Café at 14815 Ballantyne Village Way will satisfy your Easter hunger with a special brunch menu. The popular S’mores French Toast and Red Velvet Waffles will be joined on the Easter menu with delicious Smoked Salmon Omelet and Cold Water Lobster Benedict. The Easter Brunch will be 8:00 am-2:30 pm.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse is an upscale steakhouse located in the Southpark area, in the popular Piedmont Row. The Easter menu includes a 3-course meal, and a children’s menu. The homemade breads and sauces are an extra, delightful culinary experience added to the wonderful steak and seafood.

Red Rocks Café, a Charlotte favorite since 1992, is offering a fun, delicious Easter brunch buffet from 10:30a.m.-3:00p.m. Enjoy choosing a different meal as many times as you can! Red Rocks is located at 4223-8 Providence Road in the Strawberry Hill shopping Center.
