Considered the most authentic tribute to the incomparable world of music that is Pink Floyd, a Brit Floyd concert will happily take mom down memory lane. The music starts at 8 pm on May 10th at Ovens Auditorium. If Folk Rock is more your mom’s style, treat her to a folksy evening with Paul Ellis. Ellis will be performing at the Evening Muse on Sunday, May 11th at 8 pm. A very eclectic, folk inspired musical evening with Susan Vega will be at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Vega’s hushed tones and beautiful lyrics will give mom a tranquil evening of fun. A spiritually inspired musical afternoon on Mothers Day can be found at Christ Episcopal Church. Tom Burgie, trombonist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will perform with Rob Ridgell, director of Music and the Arts. English High Tea will follow in the Blue Room. The concert will begin at 3pm on Sunday, May 11th.
Flowers are always a must for moms who love their gardens! Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens offer a beautiful afternoon for families! Moms will receive a free potted plant on May 10-11! Families can stroll through the magnificent garden filled with amazing plants and fountains. Pre order a picnic basket lunch to enjoy and don’t forget to visit the Orchid Conservatory and capture the moment with Greg Briley photographers! Wing Haven 20th Annual Gardeners Tour will be held on May 10th, 10:00am-4:00pm and Sunday, May 11th, 1:00-5:00pm. Each stop, at seven private gardens, as well as Wing Haven, promises to embrace Charlotte’s rich growing seasons.
