Mother’s Day in the Queen City is a day of royal treatment for every mom! Finding a way to celebrate your special outdoorsy mom, elegant mom or musical mom is easy in Charlotte!

A touch of class for the elegant mommy can be found at the Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge. A Mother’s Day Tea will be served on Saturday, May 10th. Tea sandwiches and sweets can be enjoyed in the main lobby. On Sunday, May 11th, families can enjoy a savory selection at a Mother’s Day Brunch, 11am-3pm. Seasonal entrées and live entertainment will be sure to please mom!

The beautiful and historic Morehead Inn offers a gracious setting with fine antiques: a perfect setting for your sophisticated mom! The brunch buffet will include soufflés, seafood, carved ham and turkey. Extraordinary fresh pastries, baked on-site, will be a yummy way to end a delicious meal!

Toscana Ristorante in the sophisticated Southpark area of Charlotte will host a Mother’s Day authentic Tuscan three-course cuisine. The menu includes appetizer platters to share, a second course including everything from classic benedict to veal saltimbocca and ending with a selection of Italian mignon. A children’s menu is available for the little ones celebrating mommy.

You can celebrate with your musical mom at several foot stomping venues throughout the Queen City! Rocker moms will enjoy a Pink Floyd tribute show by Brit Floyd. Considered the most authentic tribute to the incomparable world of music that is Pink Floyd, a Brit Floyd concert will happily take mom down memory lane. The music starts at 8 pm on May 10th at Ovens Auditorium. If Folk Rock is more your mom’s style, treat her to a folksy evening with Paul Ellis. Ellis will be performing at the Evening Muse on Sunday, May 11th at 8 pm.                                                                                                                                                                                         A very eclectic, folk inspired musical evening with Susan Vega will be at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Vega’s hushed tones and beautiful lyrics will give mom a tranquil evening of fun.                                                                                                                       A spiritually inspired musical afternoon on Mothers Day can be found at Christ Episcopal Church. Tom Burgie, trombonist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will perform with Rob Ridgell, director of Music and the Arts. English High Tea will follow in the Blue Room. The concert will begin at 3pm on Sunday, May 11th.

Flowers are always a must for moms who love their gardens! Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens offer a beautiful afternoon for families! Moms will receive a free potted plant on May 10-11! Families can stroll through the magnificent garden filled with amazing plants and fountains. Pre order a picnic basket lunch to enjoy and don’t forget to visit the Orchid Conservatory and capture the moment with Greg Briley photographers!
